TRYING OUT PIXI BEAUTY

Pixi is a brand I have been meaning to try for absolutely ages, and for some reason just never got round to it?! I feel like it is such a cult brand within the beauty and blogging world now, that I knew I had to get my hands on something to give it a go. Fortunately for me, I won a Peel & Polish in a giveaway (thanks Alina!) and then received the Flawless and Poreless Primer in my Blogosphere Blog Awards goody bag!

Peel & Polish

This product is a resurfacing concentrate with 6% Lactic Acid, to help exfoliate and clarify. Papaya to tone and texture, and sugar cane to reveal the glow! Sounds like the perfect product for me, give me all the glow!! To use this prodct, you apply an even layer onto the skin, leaving it on for up to 2 mins and then rinse off. What I also love to do is massage it into the skin just before removing it to give my skin an added exfoliation; as it is a grainy product so works really well to loosen dead skin cells and leave the skin super smooth.

I was really excited to try this product anyway from the explanation on the packaging; but I was sooooo impressed even after the first time of using it! Straight away I noticed such a genuine difference in the texture of my skin, and so soft to touch. I made sure to apply a serum and moisturiser before heading to bed to keep my skin hydrated, as this product is a peel, and I woke up with such glowing and hydrated skin. I have been using this no more than twice a week, as I generally have sensitive skin, so don’t want to over stimulate it, and am so pleased with the results! Everyone should give this one a go!!

Flawless and Poreless Primer

Before getting this product in the goody bag, I actually had no idea that Pixi did primers – I mean, where have I been? I kind of imagined it to be very similar to Benefit Porefessional, which I loved for certain areas of my face but not as a full face primer. A little bit of background if you don’t know my skin type; I generally have dry skin which I maintain well with a lot of good skincare, but products can cling to it easily and look a bit flakey if my skin isn’t hydrated enough! Hence me being a bit worried that this primer would be too mattifying for my skin, and not hydrating enough.

However… my concerns about this primer were completely overshadowed when I started using it and loving it. Now in case you don’t already know, I am the fussiest person when it comes to a primer. I love to feel like a primer gives me a flawless base before any makeup has been applied, like a ‘my skin but better’, whilst also keeping my skin hydrated. Not too much to ask for, hey?!  The consistency is quite thick compared to primers I have used before, and more of a matte texture but glides on really smoothly onto the skin, leaving the perfect glowing matte finish… if that even makes ANY sense! It certainly isn’t matte as in my skin looks dull, but it isn’t completely dewy, which is why it’s a glowy matte finish… haha, still not sure if you will understand that! Let’s just say it leaves my skin flawlessly glowing!!

I don’t personally suffer with enlarged pores, or even pores that are particularly visible, mine are actually quite small, so I can’t vouch for it minimising pores, but what I can whole heartedly say is it gives me skin such a lovely smooth texture and complexion, allowing a much more flawless makeup application, which lasts all day long. One thing I didn’t expect from this primer was for it to be hydrating too, because of its thicker texture, but it really does hydrate too, a huge bonus for me!

What Pixi products do you love and recommend?

Love,

Frances xxx

Lovely post babe. I’ve always always wanted to try Pixi beauty and I didn’t know they did primers either!! It sounds perfect for me as I’ve started to notice bigger pores. I always did think there’s more primers for oily skin than dry so I’m so happy you found one that works! xxx
