7th Heaven Charcoal Peel-Off Mask

Just under a month ago, I kindly received 7th Heavens new addition to their face mask range, the Charcoal Peel-Off Mask. Now I am pretty sure, unless you have been living under a rock, you will have seen the huge craze around Charcoal Masks in 2017; and I can’t help but have been a little bit scared by them all! I have seen so many videos of people really tugging at their skin to get them off, and for someone with really sensitive skin, this just wasn’t for me!

However, when 7th Heaven contacted me and asked me if I wanted to give their own version a go, I couldn’t help but be really intrigued; as it isΒ a brand I knew and trusted, so felt safe in their capable hands of trying my very first charcoal mask!

I was so grateful that they sent me 3 masks, so that I could really trial the mask, rather than just making an impression on the first go! I absolutely couldn’t wait to try it, and began to take my make up off in record time after stepping through the door from work, the day they arrived; as I just couldn’t wait to see the difference it made to my skin!

The packaging of the mask in a sachet, is one I think a lot of us are familiar with from 7th Heaven, I am sure you will have seen it before! I find it so easy to store, and I love that it gives you the right amount for each usage; so you don’t overuse – although I have to say I did find these masks had quite a lot in, so ended up putting some on Matthews face!

Now, onto the mask itself…! The consistency of the mask was not how I expected; it was thinner, yet stickier than I imagined, but not a bad sticky; if that makes sense? It was the kind of sticky that allowed it to stay put and dry, but it was still really easy to apply to the face. And thinner, because I expected it to be really thick, which I wasn’t looking forward to; so by being thinner it made the perfect consistency and not to heavy on the skin. It glided on really easily; and smelt amazing!! I am not the best at describing smells, but it smelt really clean and calming, which I really love from any skincare.

The first time I used the mask, my skin was feeling really clogged up and just a little gross, as I had just started a new job in an air con office which was really taking its toll on my skin; something I was kind of prepared for, but didn’t realise how much it would feel rubbish. So my skin was really ready for a deep cleanse, and that is exactly what it got! I left the mask on for around 20-25 mins before it was ready to come off, and you could feel that it had slightly tightened on the skin by drying, without feeling horribly tight, and it peeled off like a dream!!

I was so surprised by how clean and smooth my skin felt, whilst refreshed and hydrated too! Which is a huge thing for me, as I can really easily get dehydrated and dry skin, so often deep cleansing treatments can are too harsh on my skin. One thing I did notice a few days after using the mask, was that I got a few small spots around my chin; which could have just been hormonal, but I think it could have been from the deep cleansing nature of the mask – which actually didn’t bother me too much, as this often happens from cleansing treatments, and made me feel like my skin was really clear from all the nasties!!

I loved this mask so much, that I decided to give one to my Mum for her to use, and I only pass things on to her that I know she will love!!

Have you ever tried anything from 7th Heaven? Or this particular mask from them? You can buy it in the sachet here, or in a tube for lots of uses here!

Love,

Frances xxx

I’ve tried some of those more extreme masks and do find them really effective, albeit a little painful! I have some of these in my stash but haven’t gotten around to trying them yet!
