The much anticipated Fenty Beauty has finally landed, and it was definitely worth the wait. I feel like the beauty scene has been very quiet on the big launch front recently, and nothing huge has landed at our feet, for the blogging world to go crazy about. So Fenty Beauty arrived just at the right time!!
Not only was I super excited for the launch, but I was so lucky enough to have been invited to the preview launch at Harvey Nichols, a few hours before it was launched to the general public. I crazily got the 5.25 train into London to be at Harvey Nichols for 7am to preview the range, it just had to be done for such an amazing launch like this one!
And lets just say that it certainly wasn’t a disappointment, and the early start was 100% worth it. Fenty beauty was created with the vision ‘that women everywhere would be included’ and Rihanna has certainly achieved that. The collection is an absolute dream, and it makes me so happy to see such a wide range of shades to suit everyone, from the palest of pale to very dark skin tones, there literally isn’t a shade that hasn’t been covered!
First of all we have the Pro Filt’r Foundation, with an insane 40 shades to choose from, yep, 40 shades! I only managed to swatch this on the hand, but from what I saw it certainly is a soft matte finished as described, which looks to give a very lightweight but full coverage. The range also includes a Pro Filt’r primer, with the same soft matte finish, giving an instant retouch effect but keeping skin hydrated.
The Match Stix Skin Sticks come in two ranges, the Matte (conceal, contour) and Shimmer (blush, highlight). The matte range has 20 shades, and shimmer in 10 colourful shades. Again, leaving no shade out whatsoever. The skinsticks are verrrry easy to apply and blend, not cakey at all! The shimmer sticks work so well as a blush in the coral/pink shades, and you can definitely have some fun with shades like Unicorn. You can pick the Match Stix ups in trio sets, which include a lighter shade to conceal, darker shade to contour, and a shimmer shade for highlight.
Also included, is the Gloss Bomb, Universal Lip Luminizer. I swatched this and LOVED the shade on me, it was a perfect brown nude on my pale skin, and then saw it being applied to a darker skin tone and it looked so stunning. This is definitely one to suit all.
Then on to the amazing Killowatt highlighters. I genuinely don’t think I have ever come across anything like this, ever ever. The pigmentation is unreaaaal, from the smallest amount of product. The highlighters come in two ranges, the Killowatt Freestyle Highlighter, and the Killowatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo. I personally love the duos, as I feel that the most talked about shade ‘Trophy Wife’ is too gold for my pale skin, and the duos come in much softer shades. There are four duos, with a range of shades to suit all.
Within this collection, there are also many makeup brushes to match the products being sold. I looked very quickly at these, and they are beautifully packaged and soooo soft to touch. This collection is certainly worth all of the hype, and I cannot wait to hopefully see more from Fenty Beauty! Shop the collection here.
